BALSA constituents' priorities (2016)
A June 2016 survey of our 250+ members (BUSD families) pointed to several priorities for BALSA:
BALSA areas of interest
As we gained critical mass and momentum, we were planning to organize our support, advocacy, and community efforts into circles of interest, e.g.
- Supporting the emotional needs of advanced learners
- Supporting advanced learners from underrepresented communities
- Supporting 2e families
- Researching independent resources for parents
- Collaborating with BUSD administration
- Supporting teachers in differentiated instruction
- Reaching out to other advanced learner support groups
- Planning social events for the BALSA community
- Collecting data to measure the impact of advanced learner support
